हरिद्वार और देहरादून के बीच राजाजी टाइगर रिजर्व क्षेत्र में ट्रेनों की गति को लेकर गतिरोध पैदा हो गया है।
एक ओर रेलवे ने इस क्षेत्र में 100 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार की अनुमति दे दी है। वहीं, टाइगर रिजर्व प्रशासन वन्यजीवों की सुरक्षा का हवाला देते हुए इस फैसले पर कड़ी आपत्ति जताई है। निदेशक डीके सिंह ने मंडल रेल प्रबंधक को लिखे गए पत्र में ट्रेनों की गति को 30 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा रखने के लिए कहा है।
निदेशक डीके सिंह के अनुसार यदि टाइगर रिजर्व क्षेत्र में ट्रेनों की गति बढ़ाई जाती है तो वन्यजीव हादसे का शिकार हो सकते हैं। निदेशक का कहना है कि कोविड-19 के कारण हरिद्वार से देहरादून के बीच ट्रेनों का आवागमन बेहद कम हो रहा है।
ऐसे में रेलवे ट्रैक पर वन्यजीवों की आवाजाही बढ़ गई है। साथ ही कोहरे के कारण राजाजी टाइगर रिजर्व क्षेत्र में दृश्यता भी कम है। ऐसे में यदि ट्रेनों की गति 100 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा होती है तो वन्यजीवों के दुर्घटनाग्रस्त होने की पूरी आशंका है।
राजाजी टाइगर रिजर्व के निदेशक डीके सिंह का कहना है कि नेशनल बोर्ड ऑफ वाइल्ड लाइफ और रेलवे के अधिकारियों की बैठक में ट्रेनों की गति पर सहमति बनी थी। बैठक में तय किया गया था कि टाइगर रिजर्व क्षेत्रों में ट्रेनों की गति रात के समय 35 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा और दिन में 40 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा होगी।
उन्होंने फिलहाल 30 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार निर्धारित करने के लिए कहा है। उन्होंने साफ कहा है कि यदि राजाजी टाइगर रिजर्व क्षेत्र में ट्रेनों की गति बढ़ाने से कोई वन्यजीव हादसे का शिकार होता है तो इसके लिए सीधे तौर पर रेलवे प्रशासन जिम्मेदार होगा।
बता दें कि पिछले दिनों उत्तर रेलवे के संरक्षा आयुक्त ने रायवाला से ऋषिकेश और हरिद्वार से देहरादून के बीच ट्रेनों को 100 किलोमीटर की गति से संचालित करने के संबंध में आदेश जारी किए थे।
