कुमाऊं में एम्स की स्थापना का मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने किया अनुरोध.
मुख्यमंत्री श्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने नई दिल्ली में केन्द्रीय गृहमंत्री श्री अमित शाह से शिष्टाचार भेंट की।मुख्यमंत्री ने राज्य के कुमाऊं मण्डल में अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान (एम्स) की स्थापना के लिए गृह मंत्रालय के स्तर से संस्तुति किये जाने का अनुरोध किया।
मुख्यमंत्री ने केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री से देहरादून में भारतीय विज्ञान शिक्षा एवं अनुसंधान संस्थान की स्थापना किये जाने और सामरिक महत्ता को देखते हुए टनकपुर-बागेश्वर ब्राडगेज रेल लाईन के लिये उनके स्तर से रेल मंत्रालय को संस्तुति करने का भी आग्रह किया।
कुमाऊं मण्डल में अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि एम्स ऋषिकेश होने के पश्चात भी राज्य के पर्वतीय दूरदराज कुमाऊं मंडल के इलाके, भौगोलिक दूरीहोने के कारण सुपरस्पेशियलिटी स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं से वंचित हैं। राज्य के कुमाऊ मंडल में एम्स की स्थापना करने से कुमाऊं के नागरिकों के साथ ही उत्तर प्रदेश के निकटवर्ती जनपदों के लोगों को भी विश्वस्तरीय चिकित्सा सुविधायें उपलब्ध होगी। एम्स के लिए भूमि उत्तराखंड राज्य सरकार द्वारा उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी। पूर्व में भी एक राज्य में दो एम्स जैसे विश्वस्तरीय संस्थान स्थापित किए गये हैं।
देहरादून में भारतीय विज्ञान शिक्षा एवं अनुसंधान संस्थान की स्थापना
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि भारत सरकार से भारतीय विज्ञान शिक्षा एवं अनुसंधान संस्थान की स्वीकृति का अनुरोध किया गया है। इसके लिये जनपद देहरादून में निःशुल्क भूमि की व्यवस्था कर ली गयी है। मुख्यमंत्री ने केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री से देहरादून में भारतीय विज्ञान शिक्षा एवं अनुसंधान संस्थान की स्वीकृति के लिये संस्तुति किये जाने का अनुरोध किया।
इस अवसर पर उत्तराखण्ड के अपर प्रमुख सचिव श्री अभिनव कुमार, स्थानिक आयुक्त डाॅ बी वी आर सी पुरुषोत्तम, मुख्यमंत्री के विशेष सचिव डॉ पराग मधुकर धकाते भी उपस्थित थे।
