अब राष्ट्रपति और प्रधानमंत्री की तश्वीर का दुरुपयोग करने पर हो सकती है सजा और भारी जुर्माना
प्रधानमंत्री और राष्ट्रपति की तस्वीर के दुरुपयोग पर अब छह माह तक की कैद हो सकती है। निजी कंपनियों के विज्ञापन में पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी की तस्वीर इस्तेमाल किए जाने पर सचेत हुई केंद्र सरकार प्रतीक एवं नाम कानून-1950 में पहली बार सजा का प्रावधान लाने जा रही है। साथ ही, जुर्माने की रकम को एक हजार गुना बढ़ाकर पांच लाख कर दिया जाएगा। उपभोक्ता मामलों के मंत्रालय ने सात दशक पुराने कानून में संशोधन का ड्राफ्ट तैयार कर लिया है। कानून मंत्रालय ने इस पर अपनी सहमति दे दी है। सार्वजनिक राय लेने के बाद ड्राफ्ट को केंद्रीय कैबिनेट के पास भेजा जाएगा। सरकार की कोशिश इस कानून को संसद के शीतकालीन सत्र में ही पारित करा लेने की होगी।
दरअसल, हाल के वर्षों में पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी की तस्वीरों की विज्ञापनों में इस्तेमाल को लेकर विवाद खड़ा हो गया था। तब सरकार ने विज्ञापनों में पीएम की तस्वीर लगाने वाली देश की दो बड़ी कंपनियों पर कार्रवाई की थी। लेकिन, नाममात्र के आर्थिक जुर्माने का प्रभाव न होते देख कानून में बदलाव की रूपरेखा तैयार की गई। मसौदे में पहली बार उल्लंघन करने पर जुर्माने की रकम एक लाख रुपये तय की गई है। एक बार से अधिक गलती पर 5 लाख रुपये तक जुर्माने का प्रावधान है। कानून का बार -बार उल्लंघन किए जाने पर 3 से 6 माह तक की कैद हो सकती है। आपको बता दें कि प्रतीक एवं नाम कानून प्रधानमंत्री और राष्ट्रपति जैसे पदों पर बैठे व्यक्तियों की प्रतिष्ठा के साथ राष्ट्रीय प्रतीकों और ऐतिहासिक महत्व की वस्तुओं का संरक्षक है। इस कानून का उद्देश्य इनका व्यावसायिक उपयोग किए जाने से रोकना है।
