72वां गणतंत्र दिवस राजधानी दून में धूमधाम से मनाया गया।
परेड मैदान में आयोजित मुख्य कार्यक्रम में राज्यपाल बेबी रानी मौर्य ने ध्वजारोहण किया और राष्ट्रीय ध्वज को नमन करते हुए परेड की सलामी ली।
सेना, आईटीबीपी, पुलिस, पीएसी, होमगार्ड, पीआरडी के जवानों ने मार्च पास्ट करते हुए राज्यपाल को सलामी दी। परेड में राज्य के अलग-अलग हिस्सों से आए लोक कलाकारों ने भी अपनी लोक संस्कृति का मनोहारी प्रदर्शन किया। राज्यपाल ने उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन करने वाले कर्तव्यपरायण पुलिस कर्मियों को सम्मानित किया। कार्यक्रम में वन विभाग, एसडीआरएफ, ग्राम विकास व उरेडा, स्मार्ट सिटी, एमडीडीए, शिक्षा विभाग, पर्यटन, उद्यान, स्वास्थ्य एवं उद्योग विभाग की झांकियां शामिल हुईं। इनके माध्यम से लोगों को विभाग की योजनाओं व नीतियों की जानकारी दी गई। विभिन्न सांस्कृतिक दलों ने छोलिया, कौथिक, हारूल, पौणा नृत्य एवं नन्दादेवी राजजात आदि का प्रदर्शन किया।
इसके बाद आयोजित परेड में 20 कुमाऊं रेजिमेंट, आईटीबीपी, 46पी वाहिनी पीएसी महिला, उत्तराखंड पुलिस, आईआरबी प्रथम, होमगार्ड, पीआरडी, अश्व दल, पुलिस संचार, दंगा नियंत्रण वाहन, अग्नि शमन, सीपीयू ने मार्चपास्ट में प्रतिभाग किया। मार्चपास्ट करने वाली टुकड़ियों में 20वीं कुमाऊं रेजीमेंट को पहला, आईटीबीपी को दूसरा और उत्तराखंड पुलिस दस्ते को तीसरा स्थान मिला। इससे पहले राज्यपाल बेबी रानी मौर्य ने राजभवन में ध्वजारोहण किया।
उन्होंने देश की आजादी के लिए सर्वस्व न्यौछावर करने वाले महानायकों और संविधान निर्माताओं के प्रति सम्मान और आभार व्यक्त करते हुए उन्हें भावपूर्ण श्रद्धांजलि दी। इस अवसर पर पर मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेंद्र सिंह रावत, राज्यसभा सांसद नरेश बंसल, मेयर सुनील उनियाल गामा, विधायक खजान दास, मुख्य सचिव ओम प्रकाश, डीजीपी अशोक कुमार समेत अन्य अधिकारी, जनप्रतिनिधि मौजूद रहे।
