बांध के निर्माण कार्य में तेजी आएगी खुद त्रिवेंद्र सिंह ने यह जानकारी दी।
राजधानी को 24 घंटे पेयजल उपलब्ध कराने और रिस्पना नदी को पुनर्जीवन देने वाली सौंग बांध परियोजना को पर्यावरणीय स्वीकृति मिल गई है। खुद मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेंद्र सिंह रावत ने यह जानकारी दी और कहा कि इससे बांध के निर्माण कार्य में तेजी आएगी।
कुछ समय पहले ही केंद्रीय जल आयोग ने इसके डिजाइन को मंजूरी दी थी। मूल रूप से सौंग नदी पर बनने वाले इस बांध की ऊंचाई करीब 148 मीटर है और इससे छह मेगावाट तक की बिजली उत्पादन का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। देहरादून में सौंधाना गांव के समीप प्रस्तावित यह परियोजना प्रदेश सरकार की सबसे महत्वपूर्ण परियोजनाओं में से एक है।
इसके साथ ही इस बांध के अतिरिक्त पानी को देहरादून में रिस्पना नदी में छोड़े जाने का प्रस्ताव भी तैयार किया गया है। रिस्पना को पुनर्जीवित करने के लिए प्रदेश सरकार ऋषिपर्णा के नाम से अभियान भी छेड़े हुए है।
बताया गया कि यह पर्यावरणीय मंजूरी केंद्रीय वन एवं पर्यावरण मंत्रालय की फॉरेस्ट एडवायजरी कमेटी की ओर से जारी की गई है। सौंग परियोजना से जुड़ी एक खास बात यह भी है कि इस परियोजना में मानव आबादी का बहुत कम विस्थापन होगा।
केंद्र से भी मांगी है वित्तीय मदद:
प्रदेश सरकार के स्तर से करीब 1200 करोड़ की इस परियोजना के लिये नीति आयोग से वित्तीय मदद का आग्रह किया गया है। सौंग बांध की झील लगभग 76 हेक्टेयर की होगी।
प्रबंधन इकाई की जा चुकी है गठित:
सौंग परियोजना के काम में तेजी लाने के लिए हाल ही में प्रदेश सरकार की ओर से बांध परियोजना की प्रबंधन इकाई का गठन किया गया था। इसके तहत अभियंताओं को तैनाती दी गई है। सौंग परियोजना में पुनर्वास आदि का काम भी होना है। प्रबंधन इकाई को यही काम सौंपा गया है।
अब इस महत्वपूर्ण परियोजना पर कार्य शुरू होने में कठिनाई नहीं होगी। इस परियोजना से देहरादून शहर व उसके उपनगरीय क्षेत्रों की अनुमानित आबादी को ग्रेविटी आधारित पेयजल की आपूर्ति हो सकेगी। ऊर्जा उत्पादन में भी इससे मदद मिलेगी। सिंचाई के लिए पानी की उपलब्धता से कृषि उत्पादन को भी बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
