गुफाओं की जगह आबादी में दिख रहे भालू, मौसम ने बिगाड़ी हाइबरनेशन..
उत्तराखंड में भालुओं के बढ़ते हमलों का कारण उनकी नींद में खलल है। वैज्ञानिक बताते हैं कि भालू शीत निद्रा में जाने की बजाय आबादी वाले क्षेत्रों में आ रहे हैं, जिससे मानव-भालू संघर्ष बढ़ रहा है। मौसम में बदलाव और भोजन की उपलब्धता के कारण भालू अब कम समय के लिए सो रहे हैं। वर्ष 2025 में भालू के हमलों की संख्या में वृद्धि हुई है।
उत्तराखंड में भालुओं की बढ़ती आक्रामकता के पीछे चौंकाने वाली जानकारी सामने आ रही है।
भारतीय वन्यजीव संस्थान के विज्ञानियों की मानें तो भालुओं की नींद में इस कदर खलल पड़ रहा है कि वह गुफा में आराम फरमाने की जगह आबादी की तरफ रुख कर रहे हैं। इससे मनुष्य से सामना होने पर वह सीधे हमला कर रहे हैं।
वन्यजीव विशेषज्ञ और भारतीय वन्यजीव संस्थान के पूर्व विज्ञानी डा. एस सत्यकुमार के अनुसार उत्तराखंड और अन्य स्थानों पर पाए जाने वाले काले भालू शीतकाल में कम से कम चार माह के लिए नींद के आगोश में समा जाते हैं।
वह पूरी सर्दी अपनी गुफा में ही व्यतीत करते हैं। लेकिन, इस बार वह शीत निद्रा में जाने की जगह आबादी क्षेत्रों में रुख कर रहे हैं। इसका सीधा मतलब है कि उनकी नींद में गंभीर खलल पड़ रहा है।
कुछ साल पहले भालुओं की शीत निद्रा को लेकर कश्मीर के सात काले भालुओं पर रेडियो कालर लगाए गए थे। तब यह चौंकाने वाली जानकारी आई थी कि कम से कम चार माह की शीत निद्रा की जगह भालू दो माह ही नींद ले रहे हैं।
नींद में इसी तरह के खलल या इससे अधिक समस्या उत्तराखंड के भालुओं में नजर आ रही है। वरिष्ठ विज्ञानी डा. एस सत्यकुमार के मुताबिक भालू तभी शीत निद्रा में जाते हैं, जब मौसम में अत्यधिक ठंडक पैदा हो जाए और भोजन की कमी महसूस होने लगे।
वर्तमान में कुछ ऐसी परिस्थितियां बन रही हैं, जिनमें मौसम में अपेक्षित ठंडक नहीं है। इसके अलावा उन्हें आबादी क्षेत्रों में आसानी से भोजन मिल रहा है। लिहाजा, इस दिशा में भालू के हमले वाले क्षेत्रों के वनों का पुख्ता अध्ययन आवश्यक है।
भालू से टकराव रोकने में यह उपाय कारगर
- आबादी क्षेत्रों में कूड़े के ढेर नियमित साफ किए जाएं।
- जहां कूड़ा डंप किया जाता है, वहां भालुओं की आमद रोकने को दीवार बनाई जाए।
- वन क्षेत्रों में लोग समूह में जाएं और हाथ में डंडा अवश्य रखें।
- पर्यटन क्षेत्रों में कूड़ा फेंकने पर सख्त प्रतिबंध लगाया जाए।
- भालुओं के असामान्य व्यवहार से जुड़े आंकड़े
- वर्ष 2025 में अब तक भालू के कम से कम 71 हमले प्रकाश में आए हैं।
- भालू के हमलों में वर्ष 2025 में 07 व्यक्तियों की मौत हो चुकी है।
- भालुओं की बढ़ती आक्रामकता पर उत्तराखंड में पहली बार एक भालू को मारने का आदेश दिया गया है।
