CM धामी का एलान- यूपी की तरह हटाये जाएंगे गुलामी के प्रतीक, बदले जाएंगे ब्रिटिशकालीन नाम
उत्तर प्रदेश की भांति अब उत्तराखंड में भी गुलामी के प्रतीक चिह्न हटाने के साथ ही विभिन्न शहरों, स्थानों, सड़कों आदि के ब्रिटिशकालीन नाम बदले जाएंगे।
मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने सूरजकुंड में चल रही गृह मंत्रियों की बैठक में भाग लेने जाने से पहले मीडिया से बातचीत में यह बात कही। उन्होंने कहा कि उन्हें यह प्रेरणा प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी से मिली है।
यूपी सरकार ने भी ब्रिटिशकालीन नाम बदलने की शुरुआत की थी:
कुछ समय पहले उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने भी ब्रिटिशकालीन नाम बदलने की शुरुआत की थी। अब उत्तराखंड में भी इस दिशा में कदम बढ़ाए जा रहे हैं। राज्य में लैंसडौन, मसूरी, देहरादून, नैनीताल, रानीखेत समेत विभिन्न शहरों व क्षेत्रों के साथ ही छावनी परिषदों के अंतर्गत सड़कों, स्थानों के नाम ब्रिटिशकालीन हैं, जिनमें अभी तक कोई बदलाव नहीं किया गया है, जबकि इनके पुराने अथवा नए नामकरण की बात समय-समय पर उठती रही है।
हाल में ही छावनी परिषद लैंसडौन ने लैंसडौन का नाम बदलने का प्रस्ताव पारित किया है। अंग्रेजी शासनकाल के दौरान लार्ड लैंसडौन भारत में अंग्रेज वायसराय थे और उन्हीं के नाम पर कालोंडांडा का नाम लैंसडौन रखा गया था।
छावनी नगर लैंसडौन में अन्य कई स्थानों के नाम ब्रिटिशकालीन हैं। न केवल लैंसडौन बल्कि अन्य छावनी नगरों के अलावा मसूरी, देहरादून, नैनीताल में भी सड़कों, संस्थानों व सार्वजनिक स्थलों के ऐसे नामों की भरमार है।
अब ऐसे स्थानों, सड़कों व सार्वजनिक स्थलों के नाम बदले जाएंगे। मुख्यमंत्री धामी ने कहा कि राज्य में जो भी गुलामी के प्रतीक हैं, उन्हें हटाया जाएगा। यानी, अब ब्रिटिशकालीन नामों से मुक्ति मिलने के साथ ही संबंधित स्थलों के पुराने अथवा नए रखे जाएंगे।
लैंसडौन का नाम परिवर्तन गुलामी की पहचान मिटाने को अच्छा कदम:
वहीं भारतीय जनता पार्टी ने लैंसडौन का नाम परिवर्तन करने के लिए सेना द्वारा उठाए गए कदम का स्वागत किया है। भाजपा प्रदेश अध्यक्ष महेंद्र भट्ट ने कहा कि भारतीय सेना का अपने संस्थानों के ब्रिटिशकालीन नामों को उनके असली पहचान वाले नामों में बदलने का यह कदम प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की गुलाम मानसिकता वाली सोच को परास्त करने की मुहिम की एक कड़ी है।

भाजपा प्रदेश अध्यक्ष ने एक बयान जारी कर कहा कि भाजपा सांस्कृतिक राष्ट्रवाद के सिद्धांतों पर चलने वाली पार्टी है। वह प्रदेश व देशवासियों का नैतिक मनोबल व स्वाभिमान बढ़ाने वाले प्रत्येक कदम में साथ है। उन्होंने उम्मीद जताई कि लैंसडौन छावनी अधिकारियों द्वारा सैन्य योजना और जनभावनाओं के अनुसार भेजा गया नाम परिवर्तन का यह प्रस्ताव शीघ्र मंजूर हो जाएगा।
