उत्तराखंड में स्वास्थ्य शिक्षा को बढ़ावा—हर जिले में बनेगा मेडिकल कॉलेज..
उत्तराखंड सरकार राज्य के हर जिले में एक मेडिकल कॉलेज खोलने का लक्ष्य लेकर चल रही है, ताकि राज्य को चिकित्सा शिक्षा का केंद्र बनाया जा सके। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी के निर्देशों पर स्वास्थ्य विभाग तेजी से काम कर रहा है। वर्तमान में, प्रदेश में पांच सरकारी और चार निजी मेडिकल कॉलेज संचालित हैं, जिनमें MBBS और PG की सीटें उपलब्ध हैं। नर्सिंग और पैरामेडिकल संस्थानों में भी सीटों की संख्या बढ़ाई जा रही है।
उत्तराखंड अब चिकित्सा शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में तेजी से आगे बढ़ रहा है। इस कड़ी में प्रदेश सरकार ने हर जिले में एक मेडिकल कालेज खोलने का लक्ष्य रखा है। ताकि, उत्तराखंड चिकित्सा शिक्षा के केंद्र के रूप में स्थापित हो सके। जल्द ही रुद्रपुर और पिथौरागढ़ में भी मेडिकल कालेज अस्तित्व में आ जाएंगे।
राज्य गठन के बाद प्रदेश सरकार तेजी से स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं का विस्तार कर रही है। वर्ष 2000 में जब उत्तराखंड राज्य बना, तो प्रदेश में चिकित्सा शिक्षा की स्थिति बहुत अच्छी नहीं थी। ऐसे में चिकित्सक बनने के इच्छुक युवाओं को पड़ोसी राज्यों की ओर रुख करना पड़ता था। धीरे-धीरे प्रदेश में चिकित्सा शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में कार्य किया गया।
आज स्थिति यह है कि प्रदेश में पांच सरकारी और चार निजी मेडिकल कालेज संचालित हो रहे हैं। बात करें सरकारी मेडिकल कालेजों की तो श्रीनगर (गढ़वाल), हल्द्वानी, देहरादून, अल्मोड़ा और हरिद्वार में हर वर्ष 625 एमबीबीएस छात्रों को प्रवेश दिया जाता है और 238 से अधिक पीजी (पोस्टग्रेजुएट) सीटें उपलब्ध हैं।
स्वास्थ्य सचिव डा राजेश कुमार का कहना है कि मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी के दिशा निर्देशों में स्वास्थ्य शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में तेजी से कदम बढ़ाए जा रहे हैं। लक्ष्य हर जिले में एक मेडिकल कालेज स्थापित करना है।उन्होंने कहा कि सरकारी और निजी कालेजों को मिलाकर राज्य में लगभग 1325 एमबीबीएस सीटें उपलब्ध हैं। सचिव स्वास्थ्य ने बताया कि स्वास्थ्य सेवा से जुड़े अन्य संवर्गों को भी मजबूत किया जा रहा है।
नर्सिंग और पैरामेडिकल संस्थानों में भी वृद्धि
सचिव स्वास्थ्य ने बताया कि प्रदेश में अब 12 सरकारी और 80 से अधिक निजी नर्सिंग संस्थान हैं, जिनमें कुल 4,700 बीएससी नर्सिंग सीटें, 463 एमएससी. नर्सिंग सीटें और 4,000 से अधिक सहयोगी स्वास्थ्य पाठ्यक्रमों की सीटें उपलब्ध हैं। पैरामेडिकल क्षेत्र में भी निजी संस्थानों के माध्यम से 12,000 से अधिक सीटें उपलब्ध हैं, जिससे हजारों युवाओं को रोजगारपरक शिक्षा मिल रही है।
‘उत्तराखंड को चिकित्सा शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं का केंद्र बनाने की दिशा में राज्य सरकार ने ठोस कदम उठाए हैं। प्राथमिकता हर जिले में गुणवत्तापूर्ण चिकित्सा शिक्षा की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराना है ताकि युवाओं को बाहर न जाना पड़े और प्रदेश आत्मनिर्भर बने।’
